Fire Protection is at our Core

Cavity Barriers

A cavity, in architectural terms, refers to an enclosed space formed by the arrangement of a building's structural elements. These spaces often occur between walls, floors, and within ceiling voids. Cavity barriers serve the crucial role of preventing the transmission of fire between these cavities. They are constructed from either fire-resistant materials or intumescent substances, which expand under high-temperature conditions to form a protective seal. By effectively containing fire within a specific area, these barriers minimise extensive damage, allowing for a safe building evacuation window and enabling firefighters to respond promptly.

Intumescent sealants

Intumescent sealants are vital for fire safety in a building's facade, designed to expand and char when exposed to high temperatures, forming a barrier that helps to slow the spread of fire and smoke. They seal gaps, joints, and penetrations, aiding in compartmentalisation to contain fire within specific areas, which is crucial for safe evacuation and minimising smoke damage. These sealants also ensure compliance with building codes and fire safety regulations, especially in high-rise buildings. By limiting fire spread, they offer additional protection to structural elements, contributing to the building's resilience.

BMTRADA Certification

In July 2022, we achieved BMTRADA Q-Mark Certification, which offers several significant benefits. This certification enhances credibility for manufacturers, installers, or maintainers of performance-critical products. It provides assurance and peace of mind that the quality of the product, installation, and ongoing maintenance will remain consistent. This, in turn, helps reduce the risk of product failure and assists specifiers in making commercially sound decisions regarding performance-critical products, including their installation and long-term maintenance. The BMTRADA Q-Mark Certification is widely recognised and accepted as a hallmark of quality in the industry.
